Pinterest is an incredible marketing channel that allows brands and businesses to increase brand awareness, website traffic, email lists, sales, and so much more. To help you make the most out of your Pinterest marketing strategy, I’m sharing my 5 essential Pinterest marketing tools!
Canva
Pinterest is a visual search engine, so aesthetic, on-brand Pin graphics are essential to your Pinterest marketing strategy. Canva makes creating graphics a literal dream, and it’s the graphic design platform I use for all of my Pinterest clients, and for my own marketing. You can use the platform for free, or upgrade for additional features.
Tailwind
With some marketing platforms, having a scheduler is helpful, but for Pinterest it’s essential! You’ll likely be pinning anywhere from 3-10 pins daily, so having a scheduler is the only way to stay sane.
While there are others out there, Tailwind is far and beyond the best Pinterest scheduler. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s designed specially for Pinterest, and it’s the only scheduler I’ll ever use.

Stock Photos
If you’re a photographer, blogger, or e-commerce brand, chances are you’ll be creating all of your own visual assets for Pinterest. But for many Pinterest users, having on-brand stock photography is key to creating your pin content.
I’ve written about my favourite stock photo sites before, and being a service-based business, I’d be completely lost without them! Haute Stock, Moyo Studio, Pexels, and Unsplash are my absolute faves.
Pinterest Trends Tool
An overlooked but super helpful tool that’s available right in Pinterest is the Pinterest Trends tool. This tool allows you to see when different topics are trending throughout the year so you can schedule your Pin content accordingly.
For example, one of my clients offers wedding and floral design. By checking the Trends tool, I can see when users will be searching for topics like “backyard wedding,” “fall wedding flowers,” and “outdoor wedding arch,” and schedule out content accordingly. Pinterest users are planners, so they’re often searching for things months before they’ll actually be needing them, so this tool makes it super easy to plan.

Like all marketing channels, Pinterest is an ever changing platform, and what worked even 2 years ago won’t get you the same results today. While the foundational rules remain the same, staying on top of new features and best practices will help you make the most of your Pinterest marketing strategy.
